Welcome to the SJB 8U Coach’s Pitch.    This league has traditionally played on Tuesday and Thursday nights starting in May. The Little League Coach Pitch Program was created to provide volunteer managers and coaches in the Little League Coach’s Baseball Division with the appropriate direction to organize and efficiently operate practices throughout the season.

This 12-week program focuses on the fundamentals of baseball, and is designed to build a solid foundation for becoming a successful ballplayer. The program assumes that the volunteers who have accepted the responsibility of coaching children in this age group have a limited background in baseball and the leadership and teaching acumen that is inherent with coaching Little Leaguers at this level of the program.

Each week’s lesson offers extensive review, while continuing to tout the importance of team-building and chemistry. Coaches can use the opportunities provided in this program to engage with the children on your team and grow their self-worth. It's important for coaches and parents to remember that Little League is a fun activity that has as its prime objective nurturing and growing well-rounded and productive people, not developing elite ballplayers.

For 2017, the season (games) are scheduled to being around the First week of May and conclude with a Season Ending Tournament scheduled around the last two weeks of June.

You’ll be contacted by your son’s manager for an Introduction and also a practice schedule. Practices will begin around the first or second week of April weather permitting. Your team will also be assigned one(1) SCHEDULED  practice per week.
